OpenMRS is happy to announce two OIP students joining our 2010 summer internships. Sagar Shah (India) will be mentored by Saptarshi on a SimpleFinance Module project and Harsha Halgaswatta (Sri Lanka) will be mentored by Darius on a UI Framework project. The OpenMRS team welcomes its newest members at the Regenstrief Institute, Inc., in Indianapolis, Indiana, and at Jembi, a non-profit organization in South Africa: Michael Downey is a systems administrator focusing on the OpenMRS community infrastructure. Michael will work with the Indiana University and Regenstrief teams on the annual work plan and offer his expertise

The first maintenance release in the 1.6.x line is available. The 1.6.0 release included the wrong version of the serialization.xstream module–this new version should install correctly. If you are already running 1.6.0 with no problems, there is no need to upgrade, as the bugfixes included are very minor. See the release notes for more more
Hi All, OpenMRS version 1.6 is officially released. We recommend that all users upgrade to this version. You may download it here. See the release notes for a complete list of changes, but three to highlight are: Patients are allowed to be Users Logic has been removed from the OpenMRS core and is now a required core
Hi All, After a longer-than-expected delay, and a few bugfixes, the OpenMRS 1.6 Release Candidate is ready, and available on the prereleases page. Have at it! Assuming no bugs, this should become the official release by March 19th. -Darius
