Activity
Data Model Updates
In coordination with the Data Model Working Group, the i18n is working to make changes to the data model to accommodate localized terms. Details of those changes are available within the Data Model Working Group's pages.
Terminology Service Bureau
The Terminology Service Bureau (TSB) accepts new concept proposals from OpenMRS installations. An open editorial process establishes the concept disposition, whether a new concept or a new name for an existing concept, and manages any needed translations of the concept into localized terms.
Translations
To fulfill the internationalization infrastructure, OpenMRS requires multi-lingual speakers to contribute translations of concepts and program messages. Translators will work with the TSB to create a language-rich OpenMRS.
Locale Preference
Support for localized translations presents a challenge for users: with all these names for a concept, which one should they use? In addition to the usual locale identification for a concept name, the system will provide guidance on the preferred term to use.
