Translations

There are several different ways to help with translations in OpenMRS. There are administrative terms (also called messages) which are used by the user interface to modify the screens and pages to show in different languages. These are currently kept in a text file (and hopefully will be moved to the database). There are also the "concepts" which are the questions and answers which are collected by OpenMRS in the database. These also require both terms which describe the concepts, as well as brief paragraphs which define the concepts. These need to be in multiple languages.

The Millennium Villages Project will be implementing OpenMRS in ten different countries throughout Africa in addition to other countries in the Middle East and SE Asia. The African countries are: Senegal, Mali, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Malawi. We are looking for people to help do the concept translations as part of a Terminology Service Bureau.
