  • OpenMRS presented at three international meetings during summer 2007 — We gave a series of talks at major conferences over the summer. Hamish Fraser and Bill Tierney presented at Medinfo2007 in Brisbane in August and also gave a panel there on OpenMRS and EMR systems in developing countries. OpenMRS was also presented and discussed extensively at the first Public Health Informatics meeting in Seattle in September 2007, and at a plenary at the International Society for Quality in Healthcare in Boston in October 2007.

  • Lesotho implementation — The Partners In Health group has OpenMRS fully operational at their Lesotho site, entering initial patient data in September of 2006.
  • Happy Anniversary to the AMRS team! 14-Feb-2007 is the one year anniversary of the OpenMRS implementation in Eldoret, Kenya. To date, the system has stored close to 10 million patient-level measurements on 43,000 patients who have accumulated ~450,000 visits. Congratulations.
  • Several OpenMRS implementers at HELINA 2007 on 9-10 January, 2007.
  • Malawi implementation — the Baobab Health Partnership has built a system on the OpenMRS data model using Ruby.
  • Rwanda implementation — The Partners In Health group have installed OpenMRS into their Rwanda site. They went live August 2006!
  • South African MRC and University of KwaZulu-Natal implementation — MRC's OpenMRS team successfully implemented their first pilot working version of OpenMRS at Richmond Chest Hospital in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, in August 2006 to support PEPFAR-funded ART to TB patients.
